I've just been having a mediocre week. At the beginning I honestly thought it would be a good week. I didn't tell anyone this (at least not to the internet at large), but I just got a job at a very prestigious veterinary clinic! No, I'm not a veterinarian, nor am I a vet tech; I'm simply volunteering there two days a week. I got all psyched about it, thinking I'd be able to help out immensely, watch lots of surgeries, or at the very least ride around with a vet!
I did nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Oh, I suppose I held the horses, fed them in the beginning, and watched a hernia surgery, but I didn't do anything, if you catch my drift. I mostly sat around the whole day, waiting for things to come my way. I'd have much rather gone out with the large animal vets that make housecalls; they have a fixed schedule that's more often than not full, so there's lots to do with them. But no, I stayed at the boring clinic, sitting on my fanny, asking if I could do anything and being told that there's nothing TO do. *groan*
The only thing I can think of is that since it was my first day they wanted to make me as bored as possible to see if I will stay on. I'm staying on, but believe me I was bored! The hernia surgery (which was done on a female foal; I thought it was a male until I saw her pee because the hernia was placed just so) was done at 4:15pm, and I left at 5:00pm. Needless to say, I waited the whole day doing nothing to watch a surgery in the very afternoon. Not the most fun thing to do (although I have to admit, the surgery was really interesting!).
So much for that. Anyway, now onto web related stuff. Very little is happening to me on the web, mostly because I just don't have time. Internet usage is being monitored by the people I work for, so I can't stay on for long; hence, not much is really being done. I'm tired today because I'm used to getting at least 7 hours of sleep but only got 4 last night. I'm writing a futuristic romance novel, which is going well but I'm starting to come up on the middle which is a hassle since I don't have the whole thing fully synopsized (is that a word?). I'm enrolled in The Site fights, Stormy's Legends Cliffs One, and you can vote for me (please do!). I'd also love to be higher with the freeservers' Top 20 List (the button on the very front page), but nobody's voting for me it seems.
*sigh* This is turning into a list. I'm simply too blah right now to do anything creative. I just want to go back to bed and sleep, sleep, sleep. I'll be better tomorrow (although I won't be here at the office tomorrow, I'll be with the vet!) if I get a good night's sleep. For now, I'm just pooped, so sorry this is so, well, blah.
