Oblivion
Oblivion
We are floundering in the lake,
Dying of thirst because we cannot
see the water before us.
It flows through our fingers,
Our toes, our hair,
Our lungs.
Yet, we do not drink
Because we do not see it.
We feel it there, but we do not see.
The water that could save us
The knowledge that we possess,
Is instead killing us.
There is the light to see the water,
To see the hand that reaches down to
help us out of this lake.
Yet we shut our eyes.
Oblivious to the pleas of our Savior,
We sink like a stone into oblivion.
