Wish I could go...

Well, tonight's the night - the big Star Wars craze is coming to a head. All those fans are coming out of the woodworks, dressing up in their Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca costumes and going at 12:04am (ie, midnight) and going to the movie even the worst critics are predicting will break any box office records held up to this point. One girl I know even asked for prayer that no fights or riots break out at the movie tonight and all the other nights it'll be in theatres.

*sigh* I wish I could go.

Stupid me, I got mixed up with the dates on when it comes out: I thought it was coming out this past weekend, while I was gone, so lo and behold I don't ask any friends to get me tickets. Isn't it just like me to miss the biggest thing to hit the USA since sliced bread? I mean, it's been what, almost twenty years, since the last Star Wars? It won't be this crazy when Episode 2 comes out; there might be lines, but I don't think it'll ever be this great. And I had to miss it all because I didn't know how to count the days of the month right. Sheesh!

Before I work myself all up in a lather about that (I'm really disappointed in myself; I really wanted to go see it tonight!!!) I'm going to change the subject. I'm back from my weekend Ornithology trip, and yes it was fun. We all complained the whole trip, are still complaining because our necks still hurt, everyone has yet to get enough sleep, and we all gained at least ten pounds, but we all know we had loads of fun. It was so fun, being in a van full of girls with one guy. I'm certain he is never going to read this so I'll say it: we all have something of a crush on this guy now. Well, at least we sured ACTED like we do! I mean, we played MASH (does anyone remember that Middle School game you played where you predicted who you marry, how many kids you have, what car you have, what house you live in, etc) and he was always picked as one of the options. He never won though (of course, I never got my name played...). Then there was the time when he took off his shirt and all us girls did that little stripping song, and he threw it back at us, just playing around, and we passed it around so we could all get a whiff! I'm telling you, we college girls can be just about as juvenile as any middle schoolers out there!

Other than that, nothing new to report. I have no tests until next week (thank you Lord, I finished my Chemistry test today - ICKY), which figures because I could have actually gone to see Star Wars and not felt guilty. :( Anyway though, just wanted to get my thoughts down. I've got so many friends going tonight, even the guy I talked about above, and I'm downright envious. Oh well, maybe in three years when Episode 2 comes out, I'll be able to make up for not going this premiere time.

*snort* Yeah right.

Site of the Day: Mind Illusions. I really did like this site; interesting and thought provoking, at least to me. Doesn't hurt that it looks really good too (I like it when websites are clean-cut *g*).
