Let me just say, I have no self discipline. I always say that I want to do something, like lose
weight or write a book, but when it comes down to it I just don't stick through it. *sigh*
Have you ever heard of the carbo-diet? Pretty much, it says to cut down your carbohydrate intake
and up your intake of protein and fats. Apparently it's the carbos that make the fats sticks to
you; when you have a low-fat diet with lots of carbohydrates, you starve your body of proteins
that it needs. Insulin levels play a part in the diet too, but that's a little more complicated;
needless to say that more carbohydrates means insulin levels go up and you get fatter.
Well, I keep saying I'm on that diet, but you know what happens when there's something tasty in
he cafeteria, or the cafeteria (which, by the way, is across campus) is closed? I go off my
supposed diet. If there are quesadillas, or pasta, I get that, which contains beaucoup carbos,
and blow my diet for the day. I tell you, I have no self discipline.
Same thing goes with writing. I am a writer and a reader. I used to be big on science
fiction/fantasy, but have graduated to romance. I am now (trying) to write a futuristic romance,
but am having no such luck. I have about as much discipline in my writing schedule as I have
in any other part of my life; for example, I sat down here at this computer about two hours ago
to write more of my book, and as you can see I'm doing my internet page. It's enough to make a
girl sick. My New Year's resolutions was to write a book and lose weight (preferably about
fifty pounds), but so far, zilch.
I tell you, I am undisciplined! I'm also a procrastinator, but that's for another time.
Well, I have no great site to tell you about today, but I do have a great book:
The Scarlet Pimpernel. I have found that some old books are okay, and this is one of
them. I have no clue as to when it was first published, but I really did like it. Apparently
there are sequels; I'll have to look for them too.
