I never realized that there were others like me. I'm from a private school, about 1200 total
(pre-12), with a graduating class of approximately 70. That didn't allow me to see more
people who were like me, although most of them were cool. I thought I was alone in certain
things I did, in certain interested. Then I get to college. WHAM I'm surrounded
by people like me! It's GREAT!!
I'll have to admit, though, while I like college life, I don't like the school. First term,
I'll admit it: I was a slacker. I stayed up late (like going to bed at 5:30 and waking up at
6:30 to get ready for my first class!), sometimes pulling all nighters (fun, but not recommended
for busy days). I didn't do all my homework, stayed up late, hung out with just about everyone;
in essence, had a blast. However, I barely managed to pull off a 2.5 (which for me stinks), and
the fact that my parents don't have much money, and that I might have to switch schools if I
didn't do well (not a good thing! I love NNC!!!) woke me up.
Over all, though, college is fun. If you have a hard major, like I do, you might have to slightly put off some of your social life (hard, but probably necessary) to study and do homework. That can be fun though, especially if you have friends who you can study with. If you have an easy major....well, I know people like that. It's fun, but why pay $16,000 a year to goof off?
